Installation skills of vortex flowmeter for steam measurement

In the measurement of steam, vortex flowmeter is a good measurement tool. Due to its simple structure, convenient installation and maintenance, vortex flowmeter is welcomed by the majority of users. First, the upstream and downstream piping should meet the installation requirements.

When the upstream pipe is installed, the length of the upstream pipe should be greater than 15d. For concentric expansion pipe, the length of upstream straight pipe should be greater than 40d, while for concentric contraction pipe, the length of upstream straight pipe should be greater than 20d. The length of downstream straight pipe section shall be greater than 5D. It should be noted that the control valve is easy to produce jet when the flow rate is small, and the short straight pipe section of the flowmeter installed behind the valve will cause instability of the vortex flowmeter. Most of the steam users are located in the industrial park. The steam pipeline has long straight pipe section, and the straight pipe section is more than 100D.

Second, the installation of temperature and pressure points.

The reasonable temperature and pressure should be selected when the temperature and pressure are compensated. If there is a plug-in temperature measuring element in the upstream, it will produce vortex with high frequency, which is similar to the interference of valve. Therefore, it is necessary to keep away from the flowmeter. Generally, the temperature taking points are installed behind the flowmeter, because there is not much temperature difference before and after the flowmeter, which can fully meet the requirements of temperature measurement. When installing the pressure tapping point, the hole does not have to be very large, no welding slag can be detected into the pipe edge, and the pressure pipe is not allowed to extend into the pipe.

Third, vibration reduction measures.

Vortex flowmeter works on the principle of fluid vibration, so the sensor installation should avoid strong vibration, especially transverse vibration, which will bring interference signal to the instrument. If the instrument is installed on the pipeline with strong vibration, vibration reduction measures shall be taken, and anti vibration seat and anti vibration pad shall be installed on the sensor. Since there is no large vibration source on site, vibration reduction measures are not installed.

Fourth, choose a reasonable installation site.

The installation site should avoid strong power equipment, high frequency equipment, etc.; avoid installation in high temperature and strong corrosion environment; avoid installation in the place with strong vibration; and choose the location convenient for installation, wiring and maintenance. The steam users of our company are sugar mills, paper mills, instant noodle factories, etc. the installation environment is relatively good.
